The Napa Valley is home to some of the finest skin care ingredients available. Hanging on the gnarled grapevines throughout the Napa Valley is one of nature’s anti-aging powerhouses: grapes. Grapes and its many derivatives—grapeseeds, grapeseed oil and, of course, wine—are full of anti-oxidants, including catechin, quercetin, saponin, and the highly notable resveratrol. Found in high concentration in the seeds and skins of grapes and hence in red wine, resveratrol has been theorized to be the primary reason for the health benefits of red wine.
In addition to the health benefits of grape derivatives, scientists have recently begun to discover the skin care marvels of grapeseeds and red wine. Yet, this knowledge was obviously known to ancient civilizations. The Romans are reported to have bathed in red wine to improve the texture of their skin. So too did Mary, Queen of Scots.
Our Napa Valley Collection revives these ancient secrets, but in a contemporary style reflective of the philosophy of fine vintners and chefs in the Napa Valley. Starting with fresh ingredients, we make our products in small batches. Moreover, in every formula, we marry the great foundation of Napa red wine and other grape derivatives with other powerful skin care ingredients, such as olive oil, skin nourishing botanicals, vitamins, rose hip oil, and essential oils. Like fine cuisine and world class wines of the Napa Valley, each one of our creations is subtle and elegant yet potent.
Each product we offer is available in two distinct scents: Soft Floral Notes and Hints of Citrus. Each scent has been carefully formulated with essential oils that nourish and soften dry and aging skin. Soft Floral Notes, for instance, contains the skin softening essential oils of rose geranium, ylang ylang and lavender. Hints of Citrus has the skin nourishing essential oils of frankincense, clary sage and patchouli.
